Our story

Sharing Bijagua, one small group at a time

Bijagua sits among some of the richest forests in Costa Rica, close to Tapir Valley and Rio Celeste. We started Bijagua Nature Tours to share this place the way we love it: on foot, at an easy pace, with someone beside you who knows where the sloths sleep and the toucans feed.

Every tour is private. That means it's just you and your group with your guide, so we can slow down for a hummingbird, linger with a resting tapir, or answer your kids' questions about frogs for as long as they like.

We also believe wildlife should be watched, not disturbed. Our guides keep a respectful distance, stay on the trails and let animals behave naturally. The best sightings come from patience and local knowledge, not from crowding or baiting.

Whether you're a seasoned birder hoping for a Tody Motmot or a family looking for your first sloth, you'll find a tour that fits on our tours page. Have questions first? Our FAQ covers group size, timing and what to bring.
