Where we are
Bijagua sits in a green valley between the Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes in northern Costa Rica. From here, Tapir Valley, the Heliconias hanging bridges and Rio Celeste are all close by, so you spend less time on the road and more time on the trail.
On the trail
A path through the rainforest can look quiet at first. Then your guide points to a branch, and there it is: a sloth curled up in the canopy, a Yellow-eared Toucanet in the leaves, a tiny hummingbird resting on a mossy twig.
Our guides are local, certified naturalists. They know where the sloths sleep and where the toucans feed, and they read the forest in Bijagua, Tapir Valley and Rio Celeste like a familiar neighborhood.
