A few things visitors often ask before they book. For anything else, see our full FAQ or get in touch.
- How do private groups work?
-
Every tour is private. That means it's just you, the people you're traveling with, and your certified naturalist guide. We go at your pace, focus on what interests you most and take time to answer every question.
- What time do tours start?
-
It depends on the tour. Birding tours like the Tapir Valley Morning Bird Tour start in the morning, when birds are most active. The Night Nature Tour and Tapir Valley Night Tour head out after dark. Your guide will confirm the exact start time and meeting point when you book.
- How long are the tours?
-
- Night Nature Tour: about 2 hours
- Bijagua Nature Tour: about 3 hours
- Tapir Valley Half Day Birdwatching: about 5 hours
- Agami Heron Tour: about 5 hours
- Heliconias Hanging Bridges Tour: half a day
See all the details on our Tours page.
- Are children welcome?
-
Yes. The Bijagua Nature Tour is an easy 3-hour walk made for families and beginners, with chances to see toucans, motmots, hummingbirds, sloths and monkeys. The Night Nature Tour is an easy, family-friendly 2-hour walk to look for sloths, snakes and frogs. Let us know the ages of your children when you book.
- What should I bring?
-
We suggest comfortable walking shoes, a light rain jacket, water, insect repellent and sun protection for daytime tours. If you have binoculars or a camera, bring them along. For night tours, closed shoes are a good idea. Your guide will mention anything specific to your tour.
- Which tour is best for beginners?
-
The Bijagua Nature Tour is a great first outing for beginners and families. If you're keen on birds but new to birding, the Tapir Valley Half Day Birdwatching tour is a relaxed way to start with an expert guide. Not sure? Contact us and we'll help you choose.
- How much do tours cost?
-
Please email info@bijaguanaturetours.com or call 8314 9784 with your tour, date and group size, and we'll share the details for your private outing.
